The Wonderful Land of Transcarpathia

Transcarpathia

To get the right impression of Ukraine as a whole one should necessarily visit the Transcarpathia beside other regions. The cultural peculiarities formed under the impact of the neighboring countries, the local inhabitants and their customs, and of course the magnificent nature of the locality are the reason why Transcarpathia is worth visiting for a foreign tourist as well as for a Ukrainian resident from any other corner of the country.

The celebrated local vines and the ample Hungarian cuisine in the traditional restaurants called “colyba”; bathing in thermal pools, hot water tubs and pure cold mountain streams; folk songs performed in a contemporary way and the mountain peak landscapes – even the most sophisticated tourists will be overwhelmed by such a storm of manifold impressions!

Palanok Castle

Every sightseeing tour normally includes the famous castles of the region. The Mukachevo or the Palanok castle is indeed the most prominent one. Its bastions are marked with sculptures reflecting its history. These are the Turul, the mythical bird as the Hungarian national symbol, and the monument to the brave castle owner, countess Ilona Zrini and her son. Musicians playing romantic melodies in the courtyard create a wonderful atmosphere for the today’s visitors.

Shenborn CastleAnother famous tourist destination, the Shenborn hunting castle in Chenadiyevo town is a real work of architectural art surrounded by a huge park. In spring, beautiful Chinese cherry trees blossom around a picturesque pond the shape of which resembles the outlines of the 19th-century Austro-Hungarian Empire. The evergreen shrubbery labyrinths lead to the castle entrance. Shenborn chandelierToday the whole territory is given over to the Karpaty health resort however the interiors have preserved their initial look. One of the beliefs connected with the castle says the peculiar chandelier which survived till nowadays would start to swing if a faithful wife stands under it.

There are two more interesting 18 century castles not far from Uzhgorod. Nevitsky CastleThey are the Templar castle in the Serednye village and the Nevitsky castle in the Nevitske town. Today they are both just majestic ruins with vague outlines of the defense constructions, living chambers and watchtowers. The Nevitsky castle (the name is derived from the Slovak “bride” – such name is related to the history of Mogol invasions when all the town’s young girls were hidden inside the castle for safety) is today the venue for the annual ethnic festival called The Brides’ Castle.

Kolochava MuseumTo see the entire picture of everyday life of the people who inhabited the area a couple of centuries ago it is a must to visit the architecture and culture museum in Kolochava village. The Hutsul, Boiky, Lemky, Jewish, Slovakian, Czech and Hungarian cultures are interlaced in this small settlement of the 18-19th cc. precisely reproduced from the constructions, works of art and household items of those times preserved till today.

Daffodil ValleyThe natural treasures of the Carpatians are the Synevir lake also called the “see eye” due to its shape; the scenic Shepit waterfall, the Borzhava ridge, the wonderful daffodil valley and much more.

With a booked and rented apartment in Mukachevo or Beregovo you can see all the wonderful places the region is famous for, get to know the local traditions and experience the unique way of life its inhabitants lead.

going to Ukraine

Going to Ukraine: Just Be Prepared

Going to Ukraine for the first time you might have some trepidation about what you should necessarily bring, how you should go about the everyday issues you are used to cope with in your country or how to secure yourself from any possible difficulties (if any arise). Here are some important things you should consider.

Before you leave:

No need to pack heavy bags of all the necessary things you think you might need during your trip. Most of the hygiene and food products as well as medicine you use back home can be found in Ukrainian stores and pharmacies. You will be surprised to find many familiar brands.

Airport:

Kiev Boryspil International Airport is the major international air gate of the country. It is located 34 km from Kiev. You can take a taxi to get to the city or use one of the regular bus routes (Sky Bus, Poliot etc.)

Accommodation:

Booking lodgings ahead is a must. You can of course stay in a hotel advertised at the airport, or trust the people offering their apartments for rent at the railway station, however you most probably won’t be satisfied with the service you get for the price you pay in the first case or with the location, living conditions and safety in the other.

Thus booking an apartment online in advance is the wisest and simplest of the things you can do to arrange quality accommodation for the time of your trip.

Money:

The national currency is the Ukrainian hryvnia, the notes are available at face values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500. You won’t experience a shortage of ATMs or banks in any of the Ukrainian cities, so you can withdraw money and change your currency any time. You can also use your payment card in most of the big stores.

Language:

Ukrainian is the national language. Russian is also widely spread and prevails in some of the Eastern cities as well as the Crimean region. Most of the youth knows English, most cafes have their menus translated for foreign guests, however you won’t find any street signs in English, except in the big cities.

Food:

It is a common misconception that the Ukrainians only eat borsch with lard and drink vodka. Although they do, there are so many more delicious things than those for a foreigner to taste! You will find numerous local cuisine restaurants serving traditional food at moderate prices. Besides, there are Italian, Chinese, French, Indian restaurants so you won’t have to hunt for food or make fire while you are there.

Drinking water:

You shouldn’t expect the running water to be safe to drink. It must be thoroughly filtered or boiled before drinking. Most locals buy drinking water from stores, order bottled water delivery to their homes or take water from a spring for free, and you should better follow their example.

Smoking:

The Parliament has recently adopted the law prohibiting smoking in public places. However it is not so easily carried to effect, so most restaurants and pubs still have rooms for smokers and non-smokers, you can smoke on streets, at bus stops and in parks. Whether it’s an advantage or shortcoming for you, such is just the case with smoking in Ukraine.

A trip to any country can be stressful, difficult and challenging. However the more you learn about the destination, the better prepared you get, the higher is the possibility for your trip to be a positive experience despite all the challenges you face.

Love and the cities

Love is celebrated in all forms of art and urban sculpture is no exception. Virtually every city and town of Ukraine has its own monument dedicated to all those in love. Such monuments are used as totem points, they are surrounded by legends and endowed with magical features.

The place from which start the trip of romantic places in Ukraine is the Love Tunnel in the town of Klevan near Rivne.

No trains pass the old railway stretch any more, today it is a wonderful place for love couples, curious tourists and simple dreamers to have a walk, especially in spring and summer when the green trees form а tunnel-like passage promising romantic adventures.

No one can deny that love reigns not only over people of all ages but also over other live creatures of all kinds. This was acknowledged by the sculptor from Zaporozhye who created a Monument to kissing dogs. Traditionally this element of urban art has attracted much attention and become the object of some popular beliefs: the newly-married couples make their common wishes under the arch formed of the two giant dogs, and the wishes certainly come true.

The project of Monument to Lovers that won the contest among Kharkov architecture students several years ago wasn’t marked by particular originality or imagery. Anyway, the idea was brought to life and the place became a mecca for newly-weds and a popular dating point. Not all the citizens find the sculpture a success, however it’s hard not to admit that the two somewhat awkward figures reaching for a kiss vividly express pure affection.

Spending evenings and meeting dawns alone is a difficult task, especially if one leaves in a fairy tale. Shortly after a bench for those in love and a love tree were set at the Dnepropetrovsk quay the citizens found another monument dedicated to love. It shows Kolobok, the fairy tale character, and his friend invented by the local iron forgers. The Koloboks in love quickly became one of the favorite places of interest for citizens and the city’s guests.

Kiev can boast some truly unusual monuments many of which become symbols of the great feeling. Everyone who has ever been to Ukraine’s capital is familiar with the monument to the Lamp-posts in love on the main city square. And in one of the passage-ways on the Khreshchatik street, a couple of chairs having a date is sitting cozily together on a bench.

The popular tradition of bounding a relationship with a lock on a wedding day or any other suitable day brought about a problem of lack of memorable places for all those wishing to follow the tradition. A great solution was found in Odessa. They created a big Loving Heart which is a metal frame that will be able to carry over two thousand “love locks”.

And in one of Odessa city parks a Tree of Love grows that fruits loving hearts. The sculptor’s initial idea was to place two small angels holding a heart under the tree. But then it was decided that the magic fruit should belong to people. So now anyone can not just take a picture with the original work of art but also get a small part of love it contains – one just needs to give it a good shake ;)

Sevastopol – a city to see

Sevastopol’s greatness and glory is reflected in the numerous monuments and historical signs that speak of the heroic past of the city. Steles and towers, buildings and sculptures – the witnesses of the great events have left mementoes for the future generations for ages.

Today Sevastopol is primarily a huge trade port that never freezes even though the Crimean winters have recently become overly cold. The city and its outskirts attract guests by the wide sandy beaches and the countless ways of having good time all the year round. Such leisure activities as wind- and kitesurfing, diving or paragliding have become traditional and popular among tourists visiting the place.

Those interested in ancientries or fond of original photo shoots will certainly enjoy the ruins of Khersonese – the ancient Greek settlement founded around the VI century BC. In that distant age the area was part of the Roman and the Byzantine empires, this was a real city with its ramparts, houses, wells and a functioning clay water pipe. Now this is a picturesque ensemble of fully or partly preserved pillars and wall rests keeping the breath of antiquity and astonishing with their beauty.

The highest lighthouse of the Crimea and the whole Ukraine is situated in Inkerman. This is a small town formally included into the Sevastopol territory in the middle of last century. The place is extremely scenic due to the St. Clement monastery located here, one of the oldest cave-monasteries of the Crimean peninsula. The monastery windows carved in rock on the right bank of the Chernaya river seem to hover above the ground…

Apart from that, Inkerman is famous for the vintage wines produced on the Inkerman winery which is one of the largest classical wine-making enterprises of the Crimea. An excursion down the cool wine cellars usually ends with a tasting ceremony warming the guests’ hearts with the sun of the Crimean vineyards.

Another town that became part of the modern Sevastopol half a century ago, Balaklava, is famous for its huge harbor never affected by storms. It makes a wonderful view with boats entering its calm waters.

However, the major tourist attraction of Blaklava is the submarine base which has long been a secret strategic site with a code name “City Telephone Station”. The base is formed of underground channels, and was constructed to ensure defense for people and machines in the event of nuclear war. The long damp passages, dark waters of the deep channels and the heavy anti-shock doors could serve a great set for an action-thriller. Nowadays anyone can take an excursion route and observe the exhibit items formerly used as threatening weapons.

Sevastopol and its suburbs is one of the Crimea’s outstanding locations impossible not to visit. If you rent an apartment in Sevastopol you will enjoy trips to natural reserve areas, lounge on the wide golden beaches and discover many curious facts of the city’s life and history.

Dobovo.com is always happy to help you find and choose an ideal apartment for a vacation or a business trip.

Odessa, the city of curiosities

Odessa is famous as a city with a mysterious soul and an extraordinary temper. It is inhabited by anecdote and song characters, its backyards are full of unbelievable tales, living heroes walk down its streets, and under its ground there live secrets of history. Today tourists can choose from a great variety of theme excursions offered, such as “Odessa Markets”, ”The Jewish Odessa”, “The catacombs of Odessa”, “The Literary Odessa” and “The Criminal Odessa” to name a few. This port city is so motley and versatile one could never characterize it in few words or fit it in any frame.

Besides the world-known Potiomkin Steps familiar even to those who have never been to Odessa, the Duc De Richelieu monument and the Deribasovskaya street which has long been the city’s acknowledged brand, there are so many more astonishing, touching and amusing points of interest that can help a curious  visitor to fully experience the city’s spirit.

The Odessans are aware of their city’s history and are proud of it. This is seen from the number of monuments dedicated to the famous personalities and significant historical events in the city. They include the Monument to the Founders of Odessa, the José de Ribas monument, the Heroic Defense of Odessa memorial. In 2004 a peculiar sculpture commemorating an interesting historical fact was installed on the Zhvanetsky boulevard. Its name is Monument to Orange. It is believed that after the resourceful Odessans sent these fruit to the Russian emperor Paul I he started building a port in Odessa and investing into the city’s development. With love and not without irony the locals call the sculpture a “monument to the bribe”.

Mum Odessa” – since old times the citizens have called their motherland this tender name, and this is also how one of the famous monuments of the Literature Yard is called. The “mum” holds in her hands the future city administrators  - De Ribas, Devolan, Langeron, Richelieu, and Vorontsov, and firmly stands on the three whales that represent the commerce, the art and the medicine.

People of art – writers, poets, musicians who have been born here and worked here – have played a significant part in the formation of the city’s unique character. In this curious city they don’t only construct monuments to great figures of the past or the famous contemporaries. There is even a “Monument to the Future Odessa Genius”. The great “eagles” of literature – Pushkin, Gogol, and Babel – whose life and work was closely connected with Odessa,  bent over an egg waiting to see who will be the next talent.

And here comes Rabinovich. Do you know him? He’s the central figure of countless anecdotes, jokes and stories, and just a vivid generalized character, an old sly and pinching Odessan Jew. The sculpture is called just the same: “The Monument to Rabinovich, the Character of Odessa anecdotes”, it is a tiny man wrapped in an old plaid cunningly looking through his monocle either at the sky or at the passers-by who put coins on his table.

The very well-known song by Mark Bernes about Kostya the Fisherman is so loved by the Odessa citizens that they have already placed several monuments depicting the plot of the song in different parts of the city. And of course, the image of a typical Odessa woman, Aunt Sonia, should by no means be left unattended. One could hardly find a better place for this monument – the famous Privoz market. Aunt Sonia has a bundle of dried fish with her, wears a wide brim hat and looks rather amiably with a cat rubbing against her legs.

In this city you will encounter surprises, weird things and riddles at every step. There is the 12th chair with hidden treasures from the world-known novel by Ilf and Petrov, there is Karlsson who lives on the roof, there is a house with a single wall

When you get to Odessa you will certainly want to stay for longer to see, hear, and feel as much as possible. Renting an apartment in Odessa you will be free spending your time, and you will surely feel at home in this wonderful city.

Ukrainian Safari in the Crimea

Another unique attraction has been added to the Crimea’s sightseeing treasury. A huge entertainment park, Taygan,  opened here to receive the status of a nature reserve.  32 hectares of heath on the peninsula are occupied by the safari park where the over fifty lions will from now on live in the conditions close to natural.

The unparalleled safari complex was developed for about six years at the place of a former military base. It now has no analogues either in Ukraine or in Europe. The lion park is truly worth admiration as the animals for the exposition have been collected from Zoo’s and circuses of Ukraine, Russia and Europe. And the rare white lions were brought here from South Africa.

Beside lions the park is inhabited by over 1,5 thousand animals and birds. There is a pair of giraffes, antelopes and camels, zebras, monkeys, bears and many others in the Zoo. The “House of Birds” can boast multiple species of birds (ostriches, parrots, eagles to name a few), bright peacocks stroll along the paths freely.

To watch the predators who feel totally at home in the reserve, the visitors are suggested to walk on the bridge constructions raised 4 meters above the ground. Thus the park’s guests witness the unique moments from the wild cats’ life without distracting them from their usual pastime.

This spring the nursery celebrated their first young ones. The birth of healthy lion cubs signifies that perfect living conditions have been created for the wild cats. By the way an adult lion must get 7 to 10 kilos meat a day for a healthy and carefree living. However there is so much more an animal needs to be happy…

To take a full overview of the complex one can go on foot or take a “zoo-train” which will take its passengers about the park. The train will stop in the Zoo where the hooved and the apes live, in the mini-Zoo where children can play with little animals outside cages, and in the noisy birds’ house.

According to Oleg Zubkov, the park’s director (who is by the way also the owner of the Yalta Zoo “Skazka”), the possibility of direct contact with wild animals will become Taygan’s peculiar feature. It’s only here that one can freely play with the future kings of beasts or even “loan” a lion cub!

Apart from the Zoo’s and Safari the complex has a couple of cafes and a small hotel to stop for a weekend. However, if you travel around the Crimea or if you stay in one of the towns of the south coast, you can easily get to Belogorsk where the reserve is located by car or public transport. So if you rent an apartment in Yalta you can see quite a few interesting places on the peninsula in a couple of days and visiting the safari park won’t take more than several hours.

Our website always offers the best apartments to book and rent in Yalta and other cities of the Crimea Ukraine.

Hortitsa – the History Island

Though Khortitsa is considered to be the largest island on the Dnipro river, one could easily walk around it in a day. However the island’s dimensions in geographical terms are far from equal with its cultural value. The concentration of Ukrainian culture and history here is much higher than in many other considerable geographical points.

The first settlements emerged here over 10 thousand years ago. The burial mounts of the Sarmatians that survived till nowadays are today preserved and restored. The Scythian stone statues found their shelter in the modern museum complex named “Skifsky stan” (Scythian settlement). Or, rather, the complex grew around them. The silent witnesses of the ancientry, the eternal history watches, they stand along the paths where the ancestors walked in the shadowy past, on the hills from where the old lords looked at their land…

The main thing that the island’s name is associated with is the hub of Dnipro Cossack community, the Zaporozhska Sich (Zaporozhian Host). It was here that the tumultuous freedom-loving spirit burned. It was the place where all the bravest and strongest headed to escape the slavery. And of course here the Cossacks wrote the famous letter the Turkish sultan.

Wooden fortresses and stone ramparts were raised here. Today these constructions are recreated by the Museum of the Cossack Community History for the visitors to be able to touch the history, to feel its breath.

Khortitsa is abundant in historical monuments as every generation of people who lived here left their traces and created legends about the glorious heroes’ deeds and the prominent events of their times. An old story is connected with almost every rock and stone on the island.

Another outstanding feature of the place is its unique nature. As if by someone’s conception all the Ukrainian landscape types are represented here: rocky and sloping banks, hills and hollows, forest, heath and lakes… Such favorable conditions couldn’t but attract the old Slavic tribes that settled here. And nowadays Khortitsa is a remarkably picturesque and mysterious patch of nature, history essence in the middle of the giant modern industrial center – Zaporozhye.

You can reach Khortitsa over the bridge connecting the island with the right bank. If you have more than one day to visit the place it would be a great idea to rent an apartment in Zaporozhye so that you shouldn’t hurry with the exploration of the legendary island and had the opportunity to enjoy all its beauties and secrets.

We are always happy to help as dobovo.com is the place where you can always book ideal lodgings, no matter if it is an apartment in Zaporozhye or any other city of Ukraine.

Donetsk – Worth Its Salt

Have you ever played soccer at a depth of around 300 meters? Or taken a walk down the dry ancient sea bottom? Imagine a maze inside a giant lump of salt with enough space not only for a human but for an entire nine-storey building… This is not a feature film setting but a real place one should necessarily visit when in Ukraine.

Soledar is a former mining town in the Donetsk region where salt mining started as long ago as the middle of the 19th century. Today it has acquired a status of a city and attracts tourist due to its unusual place of interest into which the old salt mines have turned.

The visitors go deep under the ground in a lift and find themselves in the atmosphere of the Snow Queen’s castle: white walls and ceilings, gleaming crystals, ringing echo of the long tunnels. It is of course not as cold here as in the fairy snow kingdom – the temperature is around 16°С all year round, and the white snow under the feet is usual rock-salt.  However everything seems unusual here – even the common salt.

Walking down the spacious corridors and entering the huge halls you forget you are below the surface of the earth, because you get truly impressed by the unexpected extent of space and and uncommon sensations. The lights in the rooms make them even more mysterious. The cozy salt-café, the majestic hall with unparalleled acoustics, the real underground football field and the long passages with marble-looking walls – all these are indeed far from a regular tourist attraction’s parts.

By the way, there are some peculiar bas-reliefs on the walls of the cave created by the miners who used to descend here every day for many decades. These are images including the saints’ faces on the icons of the underground church. Surprisingly indeed, there is a real functioning church in the cave, where the orthodox rituals are executed by the priest of the local Holy Transfiguration church.

Another unusual creation of the workers’ hands is the salt palm tree. It is an underground analogue of the symbol of Donbass, the Mertsalov’s wrought palm tree.

The exhibition of the Artemsol company’s products works as a reminder about the importance of the irreplaceable mineral. The salt packs familiar to every Ukrainian seem strikingly unusual in these exotic circumstances.

However, the artificial caves of Soledar are not merely a place of interest worth visiting for a tourist. The underground kingdom also hosts a unique health resort for people with bronchopulmonary diseases. More than hundred people aged six to sixty can be treated simultaneously in the Salt Symphony spa sanitarium where non-drug methods of treatment and preventive care are practiced.

It won’t be difficult to get to the place from Donetsk by car or by bus. And if you rent an apartment in Donetsk you will have a possibility not only to join an excursion to the salt mine but also to do the sightseeing of the city itself to visit some interesting places.

Booking and renting apartments in Donetsk and other cities of Ukraine is what we can always help you with on dobovo.com!

Lviv: City with a Taste for Leisure

The most “European” of the Ukrainian cities, Lvov is famous for its hasteless pace of life, its unique culture, its ancient yet ageless traditions.

Lviv restaurants testify the city’s taste for good quality and interesting leisure. Small and cozy coffee parlors resembling family sittin-rooms,       genuine “Kneipen” serving live beer and rich snacks, luxury restaurants with their festive atmosphere, street cafes especially good for observing the flow of life… This variety of styles, shapes and traditions is a craddle of some truly outstanding locations which excite and delight tourists and local connoisseurs of  leisurely lifestyle.

The dwellers of the guerrilla hideout “Kryivka” («Криївка») are glory keepers of the Galicia history. You can never get in if you don’t give the secret partisan watchword to the armed guardians at the entrance. And once you are there you will be treated with mead and horseraddish vodka along with traditional dishes with bold and ironiс names inspired by the historical events. Unusual interior of the location and the atmosphere of ardor will add to the impression of taking part in a successful guerrilla plot.

The same building houses a misterious venue the name of which is known to the select only. For the majority it is “Mason Lodge” or simply “The Most Expensive Galicia’s restaurant” («Найдорожча ресторація галичини»). The prices are indeed striking here – all hundreds and thousands – but only for those who haven’t managed to get a club card or a discount coupon which isn’t so hard as it may seem. The entire place is filled with mystery and luxury: cut glass vases instead of beer mugs, a royal throne in the restroom, white gloves for visitors, candles and pictures… A whole load of curious details for those looking for unusual eating-out experiences.

Another place having something to astonish the conventional restaurant visitors is the owner of a peculiar name – the “Masoch Cafe” («Мазох-кафе»). As the name suggests, the main idea of the location is the  cult of the notorious trend and its founder. The names of dishes trigger your imagination, and you are more than welcome to test some of the most popular s/m-attributes (cuffs, whips and chains are parts of the intriguing interior). Tourists come here for fresh impressions, and the frequenters appreciate the quality of service and  the relaxing atmosphere.

The creators of the next location decided to maintain the tradition of small Lviv museums and dedicated the opening of the “Gas Lamp” cafe («Гасова лямпа») to the 155th anniversary of the kerosine lamp invention. Here you will be met by a waiter with a lamp and through a dark passage and curved stairs you will get to the three-storey restaurant with peculiar furnishing, old lamps on the walls and fancy crockery. All this gives the location its charm, and the iron-cast gas lamp inventors at the entrance seem to have already become one of the major tourist attractions of the city.

As soon as you get to Lviv you will certainly wish to stay longer and discover some more new and curious things. To be your own master during your trip and not to care about your accommodation it would be great to rent apartment in Lviv.

Cozy and comfortable modern apartments in Lviv city center are ready and available for booking at dobovo.com!

Local Wonderland in Kiev

Old Kiev monuments remind us about the great events in the history of the state, unveil the mysteries from the lives of famous people, amaze with the nobility of architectural genius. And the monuments constructed by our contemporaries, by young artists, architects and designers emerge here and there to shed some positive rays on the city’s everyday life. Funny, weird and unexpected, they quickly become favorite attractions for the citizens.

One of the brightest examples of the fresh tide of young art on the city’s historical background is the playground on the Peyzazhna Aleya (Landscape alley). Through the gateway on one of the central streets, like Alice through the rabbit hole, you will get straight to the Wonderland where you will be met by the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the Blue Caterpillar accompanied by little lazy angels sitting on high pillow piles blowing their horns.

Two sprinkling fountains here are the little girl who climbed the back of the striped elephant together with her tiny pets and the lovely hugging zebras.

Friendly and not-at-all-scary wide-open mouths of the green hare, the violet robin and the spotted blue cats are the ideal settings for a funny photo, so the place is always crowded with those eager to take pictures.

However we’re far from the end of the trip here. And you can hardly get tired on your way as numerous unusual and peculiar benches perch on both sides of the alley. A water-melon bench, a sunglasses bench, a rocking bench… You will find it impossible not to try sitting on all of them for at least a couple of minutes!

This one here is in someone’s huge iron hands, that one is fixed on the very rooftop, and there is one you can’t help lying down on – so natural-looking are the checked plaid and the soft pillow on it.

Besides, the site is popular for the picturesque scenery of the Podol with the district of small colorful houses as if taken from a fairy tale book page.

The atmosphere of the place is so relaxing that one stops thinking of the everyday problems and starts believing in the good – all due to the merry little birds nestling here and there, the bright colors of the mosaic, and clay bells hanging from the trees.

The Landscape alley has gathered the creations of modern Kiev artists (Konstantin Skretutskyi and many others). However this is not the only place to find unusual monuments and architectural forms in the city. Worth seeing are the new monument to Chopin in shape of a white piano, the monument to the Kiev chestnuts, and the Lovers’ monument to name quite a few.

It’s impossible to get acquainted with the city’s interesting places in one day. So if you don’t want to miss anything curious we recommend you to rent apartment in Kiev and spend a few unforgettable days in this magnificent city where it’s better to take time for the sightseeing.

Our website has great offers of daily Kiev apartment rent. Here you can book ideal accommodation for yourself, for a trip with your family or friends to get the best vacation experience.
