Kyiv
Expocenter of Ukraine
Starting from December 10 Expocenter of Ukraine will turn into a real winter wonderland and all preparations for this event had began at the beginning of the month. After the opening of the complex we will see a large ice rink, ice slides, ice bar, daily 3D-shows and a separate pavilion for children, where they will be entertained by animators. Of course, you can eat and drink mulled wine on a large food court.

Poshtova square
The updated Poshtova Square is about to open “European winter” – the festival of classic European winter fairs that are perfectly fits to the atmosphere of Kiev. In the program of the festival will be presented the traditions of celebrating Christmas and New Year in different European countries – Germany, Italy, France, Scandinavian countries. In the “European winter” you can try the national cuisines of represented countries, drink something hot and listen to music. Also you can dance around New Year’s tree.
Kreschatyk street
Celebration of New Year’s Eve on the main street of the country will be in the format of the fair. All Khreshchatyk will turn into one long shopping mall with entertainment and Christmas trees.
Troitska square
The area near the Olympic Stadium will host the celebration of the New Year with a sporty accent. Fair “Olympic Tree” will begin on December 19 and work till the 16th of January. 55 outlets with souvenirs and gifts, workshops for children and ice hockey competitions will take place at the square.
Kontraktova square
Shopping again. Large flea market “Finding Made in Ukraine” will be at Kontraktova square. In the New Year’s Eve people will see entertainment program with music, but without the fireworks (there will be no fireworks in Kiev at all).
Sofiiska and Mikhaylovska squares
In 2016, as in 2015, the country’s main Christmas tree will be located on the Sofiiska square, but this time the organizers of the festival decided to add Mikhailovska square to celebration. We all remember how good it was last year to go to the city center after a hard day and see the lights, drink mulled wine and eat a sausage or hot soup. This time is going to be like last time but even better. Concerts, carousel, ice slides, a Ferris wheel, a camp for children – all of this can be observed every day in the central part of Kiev. Christmas tree will be lighted at 19 October and at 31th night is going to be like a real Christmas miracle.

Lviv
Svobody square
New Year in Lviv is loved and respected, but Christmas is still more suited to the western capital with the spirit, the atmosphere and the sense that it carries in itself. Christmas Market will open on the central avenue at 12th of December and there you can buy gifts, sweets and clothes suitable for the winter. This fair is one of the longest in Europe – it lasts more than a month and is opens from morning until evening.
Installation of Didukh
Installation of Christmas symbol will starts on 6th of January in front of the Opera House. The action will be followed by a procession with carols. Usually the honor to establish a symbol of the holiday takes the mayor of the city.
The vertep parade
After the Christmas the city center will hosts the vertep parade. Residents and visitors of the city will be able to hear caroling by folk groups, singers performances and look at the performance of vertep. At the same day you can enjoy plenty of Lviv sweets and Christmas donuts at Pampuh festival.

Odessa
The festival of Christmas in Odessa
The large event will start on 1st of December and end at 15th of January. The festival captures the central area of the city: from Deribasovskaya to Gamov square. Another event – Festival of carols on Deribasovskaya with 10 bands that will perform traditional folk songs. Santa Clauses bike ride will start at 7th of January. A large number of Santa Claus’s, Saint Nicholases, Snow Maidens, deer and other characters will ride from Deribasovskaya through the city center to the park and give gifts to children.
Exhibition of gingerbread houses in Odessa
At 4-10 of January Odessa will become a paradise for sweets-lovers. This exhibition is a kind of sweet city made of gingerbread, chocolate and candies. The theme of the exhibition – the sights of Ukraine. Potential participants have to bake cakes in the form of well-known buildings, castles and palaces. And all this can be eaten!
