In the previous part of our guide “How to spend the summer in the capital” we shared our knowledge about the beach clubs in Kyiv. Well, now it is time to move on to the chapter 2.
So, if you are tired of the crowd of waiters, fed up with restaurant cuisine, want to be closer to nature, and trying to save some money – relaxing on the beach would be the best option for you.
Public beaches in Kyiv
«Venice»
Let’s be frank, there you can not get away from civilization and be alone with nature on this beach. “Venice” is a pretty popular place to get some rest. There are several reasons for the popularity of this beach. The first one – people’s attention is attracted by a great variety of rides. The second reason is a good infrastructure. Well, besides, thanks to sports ground located on the beach, you can also watch or even play beach soccer there.
Where: Hydropark, Dolobetsky island, on the right of Venetian Bridge.
«Dytyachiy»
“Dytyachiy” was endorsed by State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine, and it is the biggest plus of the place. Presence of lifeguards is the obvious advantage. They are supervising the safety and rescue of swimmers on the territory of the beach. In addition, there are lots of swimming accessories at your disposal. As you can see, the name of the beach speaks for itself (“children’s/ for children”). Strongly recommended to visiting the beach with kids. Do you have children? So if you don’t, grab your nephews and let’s go swimming!

«Centralniy»
One of the advantages of the beach is the amazing beauty of Trukhaniv island, where “Centralniy” is located.This place is a sight for sore eyes. You can take many beautiful photos there! And, of course, the highlight of the “Centralniy” is the presence of a parachute tower.
Where: Trukhaniv island.
«Verbniy»
The beach was named after Lake “Verbne”. Do not worry about the purity of the water – six groundwater sources fill this pound. However, please, be careful, when you are swimming there, – the depth of Lake Verbne is approximately 22 meters.
Where: Obolon metro station, Priozerna st.
«Zolotiy»
Let’s get back to the beautiful landscapes- do you want to enjoy a view of the Lavra? You have to walk 1,5 kilometers to reach the location. On the one hand, it may seem like an apparent disadvantage of this variant, but, on the other hand, because of that, the beach is not crowded. By the way, do not forget to prepare a bag with a couple of sandwiches and lemonade – there are neither cafes nor food stalls on the beach.
