The story of eternal love of modern times became known throughout Ukraine thanks to the project “Wait for me”. Half a century after the end of World War II, the Italian Luigi Pedutto found his beloved Mokrina Yurzuk, a resident of Ukraine, whom he met in 1943 in a prisoner of war camp.
Luigi carried tender feelings for his beloved throughout his life. And when he found her, he proposed to her. And this is in his 90s! Unfortunately, there are no more heroes among us. But the memory of their truly eternal love lives on, and the monument, located in Mariinsky Park near the Bridge of Kisses, helps to strengthen the hearts of lovers from young to old!
