If you are planning to visit one of the cities of Ukraine this weekend – pay attention to the cozy Ivano-Frankivsk. It is quite possible to see all the sights of the city in just two days off. And the prices for rental housing and other services in comparison with the bustling Lviv will pleasantly surprise you.

Stometrovka

In order to feel the city, you need to look at the central street. In Frankivsk it is a street. Independence, but almost no one calls it so, the people have become accustomed to the name “Stometrovka” or “Sotka”. The length of “Sotka” is far from 100 meters, and about 500 meters, there are various theories why this name has spread. “Stometrovka” pleases the eye with beautiful architecture, fountains, benches, bookstores, cozy cafes, restaurants. All major events of the city pass here.

Mickiewicz Square

A good resting place will be a small Mickiewicz public garden, which is located on the same square. There is a monument to the famous Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz, he did not go to the city, but in honor of him in the 1870s there was a square. Interestingly, since that time the name has not changed, this rarely happens. In the garden flowers are always carefully planted, various cultural events are held, in particular Day of street music. Bastion

The bastion is a fortress gallery, which is built near the remnants of the ancient wall of the Stanislav Castle. The fortress was built in 1662 by the order of Andrei Potocki. The architects of the bastion successfully combined the remains of the defensive structure with a new complex, which arose in 2002.

The bastion includes a terrace for walks and a gallery. And in the gallery there are souvenir shops, clothes, perfumery, as well as a cafe, restaurant, gallery of contemporary art “Art on Moore”.

Sichovyh Streltsov Street

This is one of the few unique streets where the Austrian buildings of the 1870s -1910s were preserved. There are 30 monuments of history and culture along the street. Here is the most characteristic architecture of the city. Almost every house has its own interesting story. In one of them our Kamenyar lived for a short time – Ivan Franko, in honor of which the city was named. D. Sichinsky, a well-known composer, also lived on this street, now the music school bears his name.

Shevchenko Park

You can have a good time in the city park of culture and recreation named after Taras Shevchenko, which is located between the streets of Hetman Mazepa and Chornovil. The park began its existence in 1896. Here, both ordinary and rare trees planted from France, America and Poland are planted. In the park there is a zoo, a billiard room, a cafe, amusement grounds, a monument to Shevchenko, playgrounds. In a word, there is something to do.

City Lake

Immediately next to the park is a city lake, which was artificially created in 1955. It is also called the Stanislavsky Sea. On it there is an island of Love, where all lovers go. Also on the lake you can ride a catamaran or a boat, at the same time you can train muscles, because you need to manage the boat yourself.
