Where do people go most often?
So, let’s start from the most popular cities among the travelers in 2017. As in past years, Top 3 destinations have not changed from last year, they are Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa. But the percentage of other cities significantly decreased: if it was 22% in 2016, now it is 13,8% in 2017.
Guests from which countries mostly use Dobovo?
If we talk about the nationality of travelers, the main users of Dobovo are the Ukrainians. In addition to Ukrainians, the Top 5 includes guests from Turkey, Belarus, USA and Germany.
When do people travel most often?
The peak months (as in 2016) are still the summer months, July and August. March, September and October are not far behind. The most inactive month is traditionally January.
What kind of accommodation is preferred by guests on Dobovo.com?
More often guests choose the 1- and 2-bedroom apartments – the percentage is 55% and 32%, respectively. Less than 1% of the guests choose the 5-bedroom apartments.
For how long do guests book the apartments?
According to Dobovo, one-day trips are the most popular (43%). Also, 5% of bookings is for 5 or more nights.
How much money guests are willing to pay for accomodation?
The most popular price range in 2017 is in the lower middle segment – 480-1120 UAH, it was chosen in 51% of cases (this is more by 14% than in 2016). The most expensive price range (more than 2240 UAH per night) takes the last place in this list – less than 4%.
The average cost of accommodation in Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv
What about the average cost of accomodation in Top 3 cities (Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa)? If we talk about it, we can determine periods of high and low seasons for each of them. The cost of accomodation in the capital reached its peak in December in the past three years. The most low-cost accomodation in Kyiv was in February.
This year there are no surprises in Odessa. The peak periods in Odessa were in June-August. For example, in July the cost of accomodation exceeds the average. The best period to go to Odessa is in January and February.
The high season in 2017 was in December-January, when tourists have come to celebrate Christmas and New Year holidays. Low season in Lviv was in July, because this month many peopl preferred to rest by the sea in Odessa.
Why do people travel?
The most common accommodations for rent on Dobovo.com are for recreation and domestic tourism. People choose a daily rent for business trips in 14% cases, and in 5% for the romantic purposes.
